This film for the Belgian artist Stromae accompanies his track 'Carmen' and was directed and designed by 4 time Academy Nominee, Sylvain Chomet. It is the latest film to accompany one of Stromae's unique tracks. Sylvain’s storyline developed with Stromae and another French artist Orelsan tells of the danger of the coming Tweetpocalypse, a world where our lives and loves are diminished by online communication replacing human interaction. The concept for the film was for it to work as a promo for the Carmen track and also to exist as a film in its own right. Chomet was supported by his th1ng production company team over four months to create this groundbreaking film. The animation was created with a mixture of hand drawn animation and pen and tablet work on Cintiq. Stromae is currently the biggest French speaking artist in the world, the promos for his previous songs ‘Formidable' and 'Papaoutai' have both had over 200million YouTube hits to date.
